In the summer of 2013, Shane Balkowitsch invited John Brewer and myself to participate in The Mask Series. The project, probably the largest of it’s kind, involved 101 wetplate artists from all over the world and took six years to complete. The idea was to photograph a Czech M10 gas mask and the only stipulations were that the image must contain the mask and must be a true wetplate. In September 2018 the final plate was submitted and in May the book became available to buy on Blurb. All of the plates can be seen on the Mask Series website.
